GENERAL
1. Any year American made automobile is welcome except limos, hearses, checker cabs, imperials and suicides.
2. All glass, side windows, rear windows, headlights and taillights, must be removed before reaching the track. Rolling down windows is not permitted.
3. Rear seat of sedan must be removed, top and bottom. On station wagons all seats and decking must be removed. Station wagons must be emptied to the floorboards.
4. Cars must have a seatbelt and working brakes. MANDATORY
5. Battery may be moved, but must be securely fastened and covered in passenger compartment. TWO BATTERIES ARE ALLOWED.

COMPETITION RULES

1. Drivers must remain in the vehicle with a helmet, seatbelt, eye protection and steering wheel on until notified by an official that is safe to exit the car.
2. Driver door hits are illegal. If the hit is deemed by an official to be careless or intentional, you will be disqualified. If you use the driver door as a defense, we will not enforce the rule.

  1. No hot rodding in the pits. Keep it at an idle.
  2. Any open door will be cause for disqualification.
  3. You are allowed one fire. A second fire will be cause for disqualification. You may return in later rounds.
  4. Sandbagging is not tolerated and will be strictly enforced. Locking up the brakes prior to a hit for anything other than a drivers door hit will be cause for disqualification. The fans pay to see a show, put one on for them.
  5. You must make an aggressive hit every 60 seconds.
  6. You will be given ample time for restarts. We do not use the clock exclusively. We try to work with you if you are hung up. Hitters get more time than sandbaggers. This is not a team event, team driving will not be tolerated.
  7. There is no alcohol in the pits. This includes pit crews. If you or your crew is caught with alcohol, you will be disqualified.
  8. Any questions message the Facebook page. Don’t assume anything. All judges decisions are final.

BODY

  1. No sedagons.
  2. No body seams may be welded. No metal may be added.
  3. Body creasing is allowed on rear quarters and trunk, as well as front fenders.
  4. Fenders may be bolted together. Max of 10- 3/8” bolts above the fender well.
  5. Doors may be chained, wired, or welded. Welding of the doors and trunk is the only welding allowed on the car body. When welding doors and trunk 5” on 5” off all the way around.
  6. Wagons ONLY if you remove your tail gate, may have 6 locations of 9 wire 2 strands max. Must be behind the axle, sheet metal to sheet metal only, roof to floor.
  7. Anything can be removed, NOTHING can be added. All cars must have a hood on at all times to run.
  8. May change all body mounts in factory locations only to 5/8” all thread. Bolts may not exceed 6” long except the 2 at the core support. Core support mounts ONLY can be 1” all thread. Must have at a 1” spacer between frame and body, can be metal or rubber. If using metal in MAY NOT be welded. All body bolts must be up inside frame and not on the bottom side to bolt the body back down.
  9. (2) Nuts and (2) 3” washers can be used on replaced body bolts in each location. These cannot be welded to frame or sheet metal.
  10. May have (2) locations of 5/8” threaded rod welded to the side of the frame with 4” of continues weld straight up and down throughout the trunk lid with (1) 3” x 3” washer OD & (1) nut per threaded rod.

    RADIATOR AND CORE SUPPORT
    1. Radiator must be in stock position
    2. Any automotive type radiator can be used. Aluminum Radiators are LEGAL.
    3. No homemade radiators allowed
    4. No reserve tanks and no added cooling capacity.
    5. One electric fan, mounted to the radiator, may be used.
    6. DO NOT MOVE CORE SUPORT.
    7. Factory condenser or 32” wide by 1/8" thick mesh radiator protector or 1/8" PLATE TYPE WITH DESIGN CUT INTO IT.
    8. Core Support Spacer MAY be Welded to topside of the frame.
  11. (2) 6” x 3” x 1/8” flat strap with 4 pieces of 3/8 threaded rod through the bottom of the core support to hold radiator in. Straps can be welded to the core support but cant be used to reinforce it.
  12. Core support maybe shortened for radiator clearance by cutting and overlapping using (2) 3/8” bolts per side or a single pass 3” per side.
  13. 03 and newer may scab the lower portion of the factory radiator mount in between frame rails using no more than 3” of weld per side. NO ANGLE IRON OR HEAVY STEEL CAN BE WELDED TO THE FRAME TO HOLD IN RADIATOR.
  14. Core support spacer 8” max.

HOODS

  1. MUST BE OPEN AT INSPECTION!
  2. Hoods must have 2 holes, at least 4 inches in diameter on each side of the carburetor. Not directly on top of the carburetor.
  3. You may replace your core support bolts with 5/8s all thread. This can extend through the hood but cannot be sleeved, meaning the spacer stops at the bottom side of the core support.
  4. Hoods may be held shut with “1” of the following options.
  5. (8) locations 2” inch long 2x2 angle with a single 3/8s bolt through them.
  6. (8) locations #9 wire attaching hood to fender.
  7. (8) locations 5/8” diameter bolts max going through inner fender and hood 2x2 washer max.
  8. You are allowed 10 locations of #9 wire across the front of the car from bumper to hood or core support.
  9. You are allowed 10 3/8s bolts with store bought washers to hold inner and outer layers of hood together.


    DRIVER SAFETY
    1. Drivers Door can be welded SOLID and may have a door plate on outside or inside.
    2. Passenger door must be welded 5 inches on 5 off. May have a door plate on the inside of door

    STEERING ANDSUSPENSION
    1. A-Arms are allowed to be welded down by using 2 pieces of 2x2x1/4 per arm (1 front & 1 Rear)
    2. If you weld anywhere else on A-arm, or use bigger strap than allowed….you will cut it all off and run working suspension.
    4. Tie rods must have factory appearing ends, No heims! You may brace the center tube with angle or
    pipe. Aftermarket is fine but must have a factory type end!
    5. Factory spindle swaps are ok, ford to chevy etc. GM factory lift spindles are ok (No fabricated
    spindles)
    6. You may use replacement ball joints, screw in or aftermarket are ok
    7. You may change A-arms from new style to old style A-arms. Must bolt in factory location.
    8. NO All-Thread Shocks in front.
    9. YOU MAY DOUBLE REAR SPRINGS.
  10. May have all thread shocks on the rear- NO double nutting ( NUTS CAN ONLY BE ON TOP OF OR ONLY ON BOTTOM OF PACKAGE TRAY WITH A MAX OF A 3” BY 3” FREE FLOATING WASHER.
  11. Aftermarket steering columns are ok but cant strengthen the car in any way. No hydro steer.
  12. 03 and newer must use the factory rack and pinion, no steering box conversions.



SAFETY CAGES (4 POINT WITH 36" GAS TANK PROTECTOR AND 4 DOWN BARS TO SHEETMETAL)
1. All cars must have a safety cage and roll over bar.
2. A 4-point cage is required. . Your cage must have a dash bar that must
be 4” from the firewall and trans tunnel. Your cage must have a bar behind the driver’s seat no more than 6” away from
it. You must have (2) side bars and they must not be farther than the rear wheel tubs and must not
extend past your dash bar. The side bars must not be welded to the rear tubs.
3. Roll over bar cannot be more than 6” behind driver’s seat. Roll over bar can NOT attach to frame.
Weld or Bolt it to sheet metal only. A 6” x 6” plate may be used in aiding it to be attached to floor sheet
metal. Roll over bar can be bolted to roof with MAX 2 ½” bolts. No kickers or attachment points more than 12 inches coming off the roll over bar.
4. The cage can be welded to sheet metal only. You can have up to four (4) down posts, two (2) per side.
You must have a dash bar, a cross bar behind the seat and two (2) door cross bars.
5. Cage can be made out of 6” pipe, 6” square tubing, or 6”x2” box tube MAX.
6. All down tubes must be at or behind the dash bar, straight up and down. Welded to sheet metal only.
7. If NOT using an outer door plate, you may have an inner door plate. Cannot extend through the floor of the car. Welded to the cage and sheet metal only.

  1. Must have (2) window bars. 3 x ¼” wide ¼ “ thick max. Welded or bolted to sheet metal only. Cannot re-enforce the car.
  2. Gas tank protectors no wider than 36” MAX. Gas tank protectors must be centered between wheel wells and must stop at the package tray sheet metal, not on top of the package tray. Cannot be fastened to any sheet metal. If mounting the gas tank directly to the floor you are allowed 4-1/2” bolts with a washer not to exceed 3”x3” on the bottom side of the car. Gas tank cannot be used as a kicker and needs to remain 4” away from all the sheet metal other than the floor and 2” away from the rear seat bar. You cannot attach the tank to the seatbelt bolts. You may use the 4- ½” bolts only!!
  3. Gas tank mount may have a halo behind the tank no higher than 4” above the tank. Halo needs to remain at least 6” from the roof.

03&NEWER SPECIFIC RULES

  1. Must use factory rack and pinion, No steering box conversions, No hydro steer.
  2. Must run the factory aluminum cradle, NO added metal.
  3. May use aftermarket tie rods.
  4. Struts, spindles, and a arms may be switched to a direct bolt on. No cutting, welding or fabbing to make it work.
  5. Engine mounting, you may use a cradle like the Budde metric cradle or equivalent. Still must use a stock style rubber or poly mount. ABSOLUTELY NO WELDING CRADLE TO FRAME. IF THE CRADLE IS FOUND TO BE WELDED YOU WILL NOT BE GIVEN THE OPTION TO CUT. Fix it plates cannot attach cradle to frame.
  6. Watts link conversions are allowed, look in watts conversion section below.
  7. Must follow all other rules, any questions message the Facebook page before assuming its OK!

FRAME

  1. No welding, plating, or reinforcing of the frame.
    2. All factory frame holes must be left open.
    3. Any reinforcing of frame found will result in disqualification. NO Fixing Allowed…You Will Be LOADED!
    4. Sub frame cars cannot be tied together. If you want to run a full frame car, buy a full frame car, don’t build one.
    5. CORE SUPPORT AND CORE SUPPORT MOUNT MUST REMAIN IN FACTORY LOCATION.
    6. Rear frame rails may not be shortened.
    7. You may chain or wire your axle to the frame hump. (2 CHAIN LINKS WELDED TO FRAME MAX) *NO OPENING CHAIN LINKS TO GAIN LENGTH*
  2. YOU ARE ALLOWED A 6” X 22” X 1/4” THICK HUMP PLATE. MUST BE CENTERED ON THE HUMP AND ON THE WHEEL SIDE OF THE HUMP. DOES NOT HAVE TO BE CONTOURED CAN RUN STRAIGHT ACROSS.
  3. 80-98 FOMOCO cars can tilt by cutting and rewelding the flaps at the crush box, single pass to reweld flaps ONLY, no extra welding. All other cars will be allowed to tilt using (1) of the following methods. 

       A: By pie cutting and re welding SIDE RAILS ONLY at the transmission crossmember , single pass to reweld, NO ADDED METAL. Can use your 3”x3”x6” angle to support the tilt.

      B:By cold tilting at or behind the crush boxes in (1) location and in (1) direction only.


    BUMPERS

    1. You may hardnose front and rear bumpers if desired, but no shortening of rear frame.
    2. Following rules if using a bumper shock: You may weld on any DI approved bumper( see below). Bumper brackets(in factory location) may be welded continuously to frame 4” from the back of the bumper only. In addition you may put (4) one inch welds on back side of bumper bracket or to weld shock inside of frame. You will also get a 3"x6"x1/4" strap to aid and mount the bumper. 
    3. Message the page with special cars to mount the bumper legally.
    4. Rear brackets on rear and front brackets on front.
    5. Bumper height must be 14” to 22” measured to the bottom of the frame at the back and front body mount location.
    6. Bumper may not exceed 9” x 9”.
    7. Bumpers are interchangeable on all cars.
    8. If you start with a stock/replacement bumper you are allowed to reinforce inside of bumper.
    9. Bumper must appear stock from the stands with no spike or protruding items.
    10. If your bumper will not fit in a factory skit it is too big!
    11. You may weld the outer chrome skin to the bumper inner frame, bumpers may be cut to keep them out of the tires/no sharp ends.

      ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
      1. Any engine or transmission may be used in any car, but must be mounted within 6” of the original
      motor. Engine cannot protrude into the passenger compartment before the race.
      2. Engine cradle is limited to a simple front plate and lower cradle ( NO HALO, NO SIDE BARS, NO MID PLATES, NO DP)
      3. Aftermarket Motor Mounts are legal, Must have rubber or poly mount
      4. Transmission oil coolers and engine oil coolers are permitted. They must be secure and contained and
      covered inside the car, for the driver’s protection.
      5. Pulley protectors are allowed, but sway bar must HAVE 1/2" GAP AT INSPECTION
      6. HOMEMADE Gas Pedals and Shifters Are Allowed, but may not reinforce the car in anyway.
      7. OEM crossmember or 2x2 square tube, if using square tubing it must be straight.
      8. May weld a piece of 3”x3”x6” angle to frame to aid in attaching crossmember
      9. Transmission modifications -Steel bells, Steel Tails and Transmission brace allowed.
    12. Basic transmission braces are allowed. Basic skeleton type or conformed plate type transmission braces are fine but must conform to the shape of the transmission. Trans protector cannot touch the engine and can only be attached using the factory transmission holes to the engine. Transmission can be attached to crossmember using (2) ½”bolts or (1) single pass weld, 6” long MAX.


    REAR END
    1. Any automotive or aftermarket rear end is allowed. If your rearend has a brace on it, it must stay 5” away from the frame. No excessive braces are allowed off the rearend.
    2. Slider drive shaft is permitted.
    3. You may have (5) leaf spring clamps per leaf pack. Clamps can be no bigger than 2” x 5” 3/8s thick with (2) ½” bolts per clamp. Leaf springs need to be off of a passenger car only. No homemade leafs. Leaf packs can have up to (7) 5/16” thick max leafs. Leafs can not be more then 2 ¾” wide. Main leaf must be on top. If you are building a pack, no leaf can be as long as the main leaf. Every leaf must have a 2” stair step on each side of each leaf ( MEANING EACH LEAF IS 4” SHORTER THAN THE LEAF ABOVE IT). No welding or taping. Must have factory shackles. Rear end spring perches can be no longer than 12”.  No more than 4- 5/8” bolts or 2- 5/8” U bolts per pack to hold the rear end to the leaf springs.
    4. May run aftermarket trailing arms. Must have factory appearance. Must be bolted in, no welding or oversized trailing arms. Trailing arms cannot strengthen the car in anyway.

    1. 98 and newer watts link conversion will be allowed in the following way. Upper trailing arm brackets must be bolted in. They must be 2 separate brackets, may not be larger than 6”x12”x 3/8” thick max. 4-5/8 bolts, nuts and 8 washers max per bracket. Brackets may only be bolted to the package tray and may not be bolted through the body. Brackets may not strengthen the frame or body. NO WELDING AT ALL OF UPPER BRACKETS. 98 and newer lower bracket is allowed only in the following way. 1 piece of square tube 3”X3”X3/8”3” max per side of frame may be used. Cut the square tube to make a C channel. It must be welded to the inboard of the frame at the point you want your trailing arm to be mounted. Drill your hole through the tube and only one thickness of the frame. Bolt your arm into place. No other bolts will be allowed to mount this bracket. No factory brackets will be allowed to mount the trailing arms.
    2. If using a watts conversion all factory trailing arms must be removed.

      TIRES
      1. Any Tires and wheel combo but must have tire, cannot run just a rim. NO split rims or studded tires.

      ASK first or don’t do it!
      Everybody needs to read and re-read these rules.
      If you are found to be over built for these rules, you will be given 2 options.
      A. CUT OR REMOVE ILLEGAL PARTS.
      B. LOAD ON TRAILER AND GO HOME.
      Either way you will NOT RECEIVE A REFUND.
